From the halls of Stephen Decatur High School to the halls of state government, Trey got a firsthand look at laws in the making—working alongside legislators, learning the ins and outs of state government, and representing Worcester County Public Schools MD like a pro.

The Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) group is sponsoring a "WARM WISHES" drive this comung week supporting the Atlantic Club, a local non-profit organization that helps people battling alcohol and drug addiction in our community.
Please consider helping the Atlantic Club and our community by donating various toiletries. A collection box is in our Guidance Department.
Specific needs:
Cleaning supplies & dish soap
Soap, shampoo, & conditioner
Shaving cream & razors
Laundry detergent & other washing supplies

🔎 Just a little glimpse into our Singles Living/Life Unlocked course, which focuses on building essential life skills while also creating opportunities for students to guide and support one another in a unified setting. 🔍
In addition to teaching practical skills such as cooking, cleaning, and money management, the course emphasizes socialization, builds meaningful friendships, and fosters acceptance. Students learn not only how to live more independently, but also how to collaborate, communicate, and encourage one another. 🤩
Many thanks to Special Education teacher Shonna Schulz for developing this course curriculum. We are looking forward to continuing to grow and strengthen these important skills together! 🤝

Surfrider makes waves in Annapolis! 🌊
The Maryland General Assembly is in session and our Stephen Decatur High School Surfrider Club took the opportunity to lobby for our precious wetlands and waterways.
Members prepared data, anecdotes, and other supportive information and asked for support for the Maryland Bottle Bill. Throughout the day, students met with our local representatives and had impactful discussions about reducing plastic pollution.
A special thanks to Senator (and #SDHSAlum) Mary Beth Carozza for the wonderful hospitality and a shout-out to #ClassOf2024 grad Kayla Rocco for her service in Annapolis this week.
SDHS is a Maryland Green School and this is just one of the school’s many environmental/conservation initiatives.
