From powerful exhibits to stories that deepen our understanding of the voices we study in class, the visit brought history and literature to life.

All math classes were able to solve the puzzles, unlock the antidote, and save humanity!
🧟‍♂️🧮 Zombie Math: Survival of the Fittest!
Today, during this #AmericanEducationWeek 🍎, students in Brenda Hommel’s Algebra II classes walked into a high-stakes, brain-busting challenge like no other! 🧠💥
Complete with an emergency message, music, lighting, a set design that rivals one from our drama department, and a “Zombie Teacher,” students were given 5 emergency alarms to solve a series of mind-melting math problems.
Each equation solved brought students closer to the combination that unlocked the antidote. But, along the way, students had to heed the time—after every alarm, students became "infected" by the mathematical chaos, and the stakes became exponentially higher! 🚨
Parents, could you beat the clock and survive the outbreak? ⏳

A one-two-punch for our #Mathletes at the 41st annual Eastern Shore High School Mathematics Competition at Salisbury University.
Out of 20 teams, Stephen Decatur High School placed first 🏆 and out of 80 individual competitors, junior Tyler Kim placed second 🏆.
