It’s the last waltz for some giants in our music department! After 30 years, Band Director JD Foell conducts a final performance at our annual Spring Concert. The sounds were melodic, but we are definitely feeling heavy as his days at SDHS come to a decrescendo. Thank you Mr. Foell for your countless hours, parades, marches, concerts, and, most of all, the love of music that you’ve shared with thousands of students. The evening also marked the final performance for our seniors: Saylor Amos, Emily Barnhill, Jersi Hilliard, Anthony Guerriero, Jonah Ridgely, Chandler Smith, and CJ Shoemaker. Introducing our newest ASK exam certificate recipients.
The ASK Exam (Institute for the Assessment of Skills and Knowledge of Business) offers an exam on Fundamental Business Concepts.These industry-validated performance indicators define skills and requisite knowledge required for ethical decision-making and career success in business, marketing, finance, management, and entrepreneurship.

Stephen Decatur’s Caitlin Shimko is the Delmarva Now Player of the Week for April 15-21. In their win over Kent Island, Shimko scored three goals.
It’s been an awesome #EarthWeek at SDHS. From upcycling to recycling, advocacy to awareness, and energy conservation to clean-ups, we are proud of our environmentally responsible students! The week culminated in a grounds sweep resulting in a collection of nearly 100 lbs of refuse! The SIFMA Foundation's acclaimed The Stock Market Game™ program is an online simulation of the global capital markets that engages students grades 4-12 in the world of economics, investing and personal finance, and prepares them for financially independent futures. Students are given a virtual $100,000 to invest. More than 600,000 students take part every school year across all 50 states. The Stock Market Game has reached 22 million students since its inception in 1977.
Students participate in the Stock Market Game as students in the business program taught by Kurt Marx.
