The exam will start promptly at 8:00AM and run through first and second periods. This exam is fully digital, so students will be testing on their school issued iPads.
Please make sure that devices are updated and fully charged. Students are already registered and no further action is needed.

SDHS is partnering with Worcester GOLD to help FILL THE VAULT! From October 5–15, we’re asking our SDHS community to come together and donate new, essential items that will help Worcester County families in need. Items needed include clothing, coats, socks, shoes, diapers, infant care items, shelf-stable food, hygiene products, and household supplies. Please bring your donations to Mr. Purnell or Room H17. Every donation can make a difference for a local family experiencing an emergency. Let’s come together as a school community and FILL THE VAULT!

A "Fab Four" of New Faces Join Our Seahawk Family!
Stephen Decatur High School is excited to introduce its newest faculty members.
Joining the English department is Kim Dorn. Dorn brings a rich background and a wealth of knowledge to Decatur. With a career spanning 25 years in the Worcester County Public Schools system, including experience at the middle school level, Dorn is more than ready to embrace new challenges. This year, she will be teaching English 9 along with other electives. Dorn is particularly excited to immerse herself in Seahawk life and join the school where her son, Taj, attends. Dorn fills the position vacated by Stella Malone, who retired in June.
In the business department, DJ Braun brings his acumen and expertise. Braun, who has worked in Worcester County Public Schools for eight years, joins us from Berlin Intermediate School. No stranger to SDHS, Braun has served as a coach for 10 years, including football throughout that decade and one season as an assistant coach for women's varsity basketball. With a background in sports business and education, Braun is excited to teach Principles of Business Management/Entrepreneurship and Introduction to Marketing, courses formerly taught by business department chair Kurt Marx.
The new professional in the health room, Christie Chmar, is actually not new to Decatur at all. A 1998 Decatur graduate, Chmar brings an impressive résumé back to the school as a registered nurse with a master's degree in science and nursing. She has 20 years of experience working in hospitals, doctors' offices, the health department, and schools, along with an extensive travel background, having visited countries on six continents. Like Dorn, Chmar is excited to work in the same school her son, Fletcher, attends as a sophomore. Chmar takes over for longtime school nurse Debbie Doukas.
Also returning home is art teacher Rachel Wisniewski, a 2003 Decatur graduate. Wisniewski is now in her 15th year of teaching, seven of which have been in Worcester County Public Schools. Prior to landing her dream job back at her alma mater, where she "fell in love with art," Wisniewski taught in the metropolitan areas of Baltimore and Los Angeles. Filling the vacancy left by art teacher Michelle Galello, Wisniewski will teach Art I and Digital Art and Illustration.
